A Yummy Valentine's Day Treat
When we were doing our grocery shopping, we found these large strawberries still on the stem. Since it's getting close to Valentine's Day, they had a whole lot to choose from. The way I choose my strawberries is not just by looks, I smell them. If they don't have that beautiful strawberry smell, I don't get them. I kept going back to the large stemmed strawberries, made in the USA.
So, we have yummy looking and smelling strawberries what should we do with them? Normally I would be happy with just cutting them up and adding a little sugar or just eating them whole. Can't do that this close to Valentine's Day. We had to do chocolate covered strawberries. I didn't want to go through the hassle of melting chocolate so, I bought the new Jif Whips. I bought the chocolate and peanut flavored kind.
Came home and cleaned the strawberries (check out my post from yesterday on how to clean fruits).
After they were cleaned, I put them in a container in the fridge. Yesterday I decided to try out the Jif Whip. It wasn't too bad. Tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry that had been rolled in peanuts. Very easy to either dip your strawberries in or take a knife to and spread on the strawberry. Give it a try! It reminded me of the Shari Berries I got a few years ago from my husband for Valentine's Day.
