Kathy's Sloppy Joes
When my dad and step-mom were in a few weeks ago, she brought with her her recipe book so I could look through. I did write down several recipes, but haven't tried them yet. Since my brother was over getting his car fixed by our
awesome mechanic, Jon (yep, I'm talking about my Jon), I thought that I would try this recipe out.
My way of making sloppy Joes is by just browning some hamburger and then adding a can of Manwhich to it. Yep, I'm all about simple cooking. This recipe isn't complicated, it's just a little time consuming. Here's what you'll need:
and garlic. I used the canned garlic. Cook for 7 minutes or until the onions and green peppers are tender. Don't forget to stir every so often.
The next steps, I'm not sure if they need to go in order. The recipe states to stir in the next 9 ingredients. I didn't go by the order above, just started with what I already had out and went from there.
Stir and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let simmer for 25 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken. Don't forget to stir every so often.
I made some Kraft mac-n-cheese to have on the side and so Michael had something to eat as well. It was very tasty. Both Jon and Charles liked it and Jon said he prefers it over the Manwhich sloppy Joes I make. The recipe said that it will make 6 servings, but we ate 7 servings and I let Charles take the rest home with him. Try it out for yourself!

Looks Absolutely Delicious. Though am not a Beef eater, so would try it with some other meat.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I'm sure this would probably taste just as good with ground turkey. Let me know what you think with the different meat!
