Sponge Bombs
A Water Balloon Fight Alternative
I found this on Pinterest a year or two ago and finally got around to buying the supplies to make them.
You'll need sponges, hair ties, and a pair of sissors. I got the sponges and hair ties at the dollar store! What's awesome about this is, I got two sponges for $1!
You want to cut each sponge into three pieces.
Each bomb will take three sponges. Michael wanted his to have all the colors of sponges that I had bought. So I tried to rotate the colors so that he had all the colors in each bomb.
You're going to take the hair tie...
and wrap it around all the sponges like so.
To make sure they stay, you'll want to wrap the hair tie around the sponges a second time.
Then just arrange them to make it look more like a ball.
I couldn't get them to completely look like a ball or even look like what I saw on Pinterest. These are the ones I made for my nephews. I figured that they wouldn't want pink or purple in theirs and that's how we would be able to tell which ones where Michael's.
What you're suppose to do is have a bucket of water for each person playing. The goal is to try and get your bombs into the other person's bucket. We haven't done that part yet. I still need to make bombs for Jon and I to be able to participate in the fun. I made three bombs for each boy, but you can make as many as you want. We've been playing with them in the house and Michael has been having a blast with them. So, they could be used dry in the house or with water out in the backyard. The best thing about these are that you can use them over and over again!

So glad I found you on share your stuff tuesdays!
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me! As long as the kids have fun with it, that's all that matters. Thanks for stopping by! Looks like your son has some of the same tastes in cars as mine.
