Last year we made these ghost-o-lanterns and they were a big hit with all who came to our house trick-or-treating. To see what they looked like last year, click here.

We decided that we didn't want to cut out a hole in the backs because we didn't want to deal with putting tins with sand in them. It always seems to be windy on trick-or-treat night. We had to come up with another way of lighting the jugs up.

We filled the jugs with water and then added a glow stick in each jug. We realized that one wasn't really enough. The picture above shows our Pac-Man jug with two glow sticks. We're thinking next year we'll use three sticks to give it the effect we were looking for.

This is what they looked like. They definitely need more glow sticks. We still got lots of complements about them.

There's a simple and rather cheap outside decoration for Halloween. I've already bought all the glow sticks for next year. Halloween stuff at Walmart was reduced to 90% off this past weekend. Practically giving them away! Try it out for next Halloween and see how many complements you get.
