How I spent my birthday.
Yesterday was my birthday and normally I'm pretty excited about it, but there are somethings that I've been dealing with the past few weeks that people my age normally don't have to deal with. I'll talk more about it at some point.
Normally I plan a trip to go see my mom or do something fun. One my best birthdays had to be back in 2009. My mom and I went to Charleston, WV and saw our favorite musicians, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman. We had fairly good seats as well. I had seen both of them individually in concert, but together was even better.
Back in 2010, my birthday gift from Jon was tickets to see a Broadway show, Race. We'd never been to New York City and were extremely excited to go and experience the "concrete jungle". I was even more excited to see my all-time favorite actor, James Spader, live. Such a great show.
This year, it was rather low key. Hung out with Michael like every day. The weather was beautiful and I decided that Michael needed some playground time. We spent about an hour there and Michael learned how to swing on the big kids swing! A few hours later, Jon came home from work early to surprise me.
Michael was so excited to give me my gift and cards. He actually wanted to open them for me.
My boys did good! A Pandora bracelet with two Disney charms. It's my Mother's Day gift as well. After opening my gift, we went out to dinner at Outback and had a great meal. What fun things have you done for your birthday?
