Waterpark fun at Volcano Island
Do you live in Northern Virginia? Did you know that there are waterparks in the area? I just found this out a few years ago, but never checked any of them out. Well, a few weeks ago we decided to try one out. This weekend Michael will be going to the waterpark in Rehoboth Beach with Gramie and PopPop and we wanted to make sure he was prepared to go without Mommy and Daddy.

We decided to check out the waterpark that was closest to us, Volcano Island. I saw an awesome deal on Certifikid that we decided to take advantage of. As of writing this, the deal was still live. You can buy 4 afternoon tickets only good for Monday - Friday for the price of $14.50! Afternoon prices normally start at 4pm, but by purchasing your tickets through Certifikid you get to get in at 3pm! Can't beat that deal!
The park is open until 7pm and we stayed until close. Michael was not tall enough to ride the three slides that go into the main pool. Jon and I ended up taking turns riding them. Michael would stay in the big pool with the one that wasn't riding and watch the other slide down. They also have a splash pad besides the main pool that has a slide which is how we got Michael ok with sliding in water. In the back, there's also a beach area for the kids to play in some sand.
Where we spent most of our time, the kiddie area. Michael was a little unsure of it at first since the bucket at top tips over and dumps all the water down on the kids.
By the time we were leaving, he was having a blast and didn't want to leave. Live in Northern Virginia and have been to one of the waterparks in the area? What did you like about the one you went to? I like that they did have a place to buy food and at a pretty reasonable price. I'm not sure if this year we'll be able to check out the rest, but next summer I'm sure we'll check out at least the pirate themed waterpark.
