Because of doing the snacks for this week of school, I couldn't wait to do the shopping on Monday like I have been doing. So, even though I was sick, we all went and did our shopping on Saturday. Here's the dinner plans for the week as well as what the kids got for their snacks:
After doing the grocery shopping on Monday, I got sick and am just now starting to somewhat feel better. Thankfully I had planned fairly simple and easy meals on Monday and Jon was able to make them when he came home from work.
With my mom leaving on Monday and Michael being sick on Tuesday, I didn't get to my grocery shopping until yesterday (Wednesday). Luckily, we had everything we needed for our dinners the other two nights. Here's the meal plans I came up with on Monday:
In hopes to save some money, we packed pretty much everything we could think of that we might need. I also wanted to make our vacation still a vacation and did as much prep work on the food for our meals as I could a head of time.
With the new school year starting, I wanted to try and start something new. Every Friday night we're going to try and have a family movie night. We started this last Friday and had a lot of fun.
After a long weekend away for a family reunion, we didn't feel like doing our shopping when we got home on Monday. I decided to do the shopping yesterday after I was sure Michael's first day of school was going well. I didn't really have a plan before I left, came up with it while I was at Walmart. Here's our plans for dinner this week:
Wow! It's been two years since I decided to start this little mommy blog. I had no idea what I was doing or even going to write about, but I've been able to do it for two years. I guess that means something.
Having a vacation on the beach and staying at a place that has a kitchen can help save you money when it comes to food. We decided that we would buy most of the food here in Virginia and bring it down with us. I think the next time we go down, we'll do our shopping when we get there. Here's the meal plans that we had:
So with a new school year approaching and a possible new work schedule for Jon, I thought we would try and switch up the whole meal plan and grocery trip posts. We are going to try and make more meals at home than we had been and at the end of each month I'll write a post about how well we did. On to this week.
