Today was Michael's first day of his second year at Little Blessing Preschool here in Leesburg, VA. He did a fantastic job and had a great first day!
This morning started out like a normal day. He hopped into my bed and started watching some Disney while I got things together to be able to start our day. Once we got dressed, we did the "first day of school" picture that all parents take. I can't believe how different he looks from last year's picture (my boy is definitely growing up).
He was so ready and excited. He wouldn't let me take some pictures outside of the church to try and help waist time. We were a little early.
Just waiting for them to unlock the doors.
His bag all hung up on his hook. I didn't even think to take a picture of him putting his name card in the pouch to "sign in" or putting his hand in to vote for bubbles instead of balls. He also could have actually signed his name in the students sign in book, but he was more interested in playing and getting his day started.
He found the play dough and was happy. So, I kissed him goodbye and told him to be good and have fun. I went upstairs and waited around with the other moms to make sure everyone was doing well and about 30 minutes in the director came up and said there were no meltdowns.
Since everything was good at school, I went off to do our much needed grocery shopping for the week. I saw these cookies at Wegmans and knew that I had to buy it for Michael in celebration of his first day back to school. I told him on the way home that I had a present for him and he was extremely excited about that. He couldn't believe that I would get him a present. When we pulled into the garage he asked me if his present was Daddy. I told him that it wasn't and that Daddy had to work.
He was completely surprised and very happy about getting this cookie. He even let me have a bite! I'm so glad that he did great today, we were a little worried because he was upset on Friday when he was meeting his teachers and seeing his classroom. He wanted to go back to his classroom from last year.
Michael learned and grew so much last year with just two days a week of school. I'm excited to see how much he learns and grows this year by going four days a week. I know that many of your kids have probably already had their first day of school. How did they do? Do they like their classmates and teachers?
