Learned a big lesson this week - Meal Plan and Grocery Trip for September 7th thru 13th
After a long weekend away for a family reunion, we didn't feel like doing our shopping when we got home on Monday. I decided to do the shopping yesterday after I was sure Michael's first day of school was going well. I didn't really have a plan before I left, came up with it while I was at Walmart. Here's our plans for dinner this week:
We already had the lasagna, hot dogs, hot dog buns, hamburger, and Hamburger Helper kit. All I needed to get was some things for lunches and additional items for the Pizza Casserole. My mom is coming this weekend, that's why I have eating out planned. I am going to try out some dessert recipes this weekend so look for those in the next week or so.
Here's what I got at Walmart:
I spent $21.50 at Walmart.
Here's what I got at Wegmans:
So, I'm just now noticing that I was charged for 2 OJs, but I only really purchased one. Since I'm just now noticing this, there's probably nothing that can be done. According to the receipt, I spent $16.70.
We had a carry over of $5.81 which made our budget for this week $30.81. The grand total spent was $38.20. Went over by $7.39. I had a feeling that I would go over when I put the cookie in the cart, but I wanted to celebrate Michael's first day of school. Would have been closer to budget if I had paid attention at the check out and not bought the cookie. Two more weeks of this $25.00 weekly budget.
