Crock pot apple pork loin
Several weeks ago we went and picked a half bushel of apples at one of our local orchards (Apple Picking at Marker-Miller Orchards). Once we got home I started looking for ideas of how to use the apples. One of my food blogger friends, Sissy over at The Busy Cooking Momma, had just the recipe that I needed!
Here's what you'll need:
2 1/2 - 3lb pork loin
5 red delicious apples, unpeeled
5 Tbsp honey
3 Tbsp cinnamon
To see step-by-step instructions of this recipe, head over to Sissy's post Apple Cinnamon Honey Pork Loin (Slow Cooker). My apples were a lot bigger than the ones that Sissy used and it wasn't until I was half way through trying to put the apples slices in the pork that I realized that I should slice the slices in half.
This is actually two small pork loins and one actually broke apart when I was taking them out of the crockpot. Both Jon and I rather enjoyed the pork. You could barely taste the honey or the cinnamon. Jon decided to added some honey barbecue sauce to his and said it made it taste even better. So if you've recently gone apple picking and have some apples to get rid of, give this recipe a try. Don't forget to check out other great recipes that Sissy has on her blog.
