Last year Michael's school gave all the kids in his class this bag of "magic reindeer food" before they went on their Christmas break.  This is such a great idea to get the kids excited for Santa coming to the house.

The food is basically oats and glitter.  We went out right before bedtime and sprinkled the food all over our front yard so that Santa's reindeer would know to stop at our house.  Michael had so much fun doing this.

He also wanted to put some on our roof.  Yeah, that was not going to happen - we live in a three-story townhouse.  We told him that they would smell the oats and see the glitter from the sky just fine.  Sure enough, they found their way to our house because Santa left Michael a lot of great gifts!

I'm thinking of making this for this year if his school doesn't send some home next week.  Give it a try with your kids this year.
