Simple DIY Bird Feeder
Since it's supposed to be Spring, even though the weather doesn't seem to feel like it, the birds should be starting to show back up. We actually had some birds that were hanging around the neighborhood back in January and decided to make them some feeders so they'd be able to survive. Here's how we made them.
I had poured some of the bird seed into a container to be able to roll the tube in the seed. Make sure to get all the peanut butter covered.
You'll then want to cut your string to the length you want and string it through the paper roll.
Once you got your string knotted, it's time to hang them on your tree. I remember making these in elementary school and hanging them outside on the trees in front of the school. Our feeders have long been removed from our tree, but we might make some more once the weather finally makes up its mind that it's Spring.
Items you'll need:
- bird seed
- some type of heavy duty string
- empty toilet paper rolls
- peanut butter
How to make the feeders:
Take your empty toilet paper roll and smear peanut butter all over the outside. This will help the bird seed to stay on the roll.I had poured some of the bird seed into a container to be able to roll the tube in the seed. Make sure to get all the peanut butter covered.
